coloma in the distant past

here's to all my friends, especially linda, liz, moira, ruth that i am in touch with thru the wonders of facebook... looking for other friends now too...
coloma 1982 to 1989 i think.
well, i remember bunking lots (croydon, i guess that doesnt help? i remember water fights, mrs lindsay, sister sheila, sister gabs, ball-girling at Queens (ooer), the fifth form block, the fairfield halls, flooding the first form block, tuck shop, the bus stop, smurfs, my bicycle/motorbike, that male maths teacher, mr beaumont, that poor french teacher that broke down, the computer/sewing room, the sixth form block, the day liz blew up, smoking in the fields above the school, going jogging, home and away and neighbours... 'o' levels and 'a' levels.

i also remember throwing my wrappers out of the top floor of the bus: 'someone else will pick them up, give them a job wont it' (i was so cool!). then one day, a few of us were on the bus, sitting top back obviously, probably smoking, surely incredibly alive at 15/16yrs old when one of the girls got on her high horse, gave me a proper lecture about the environment, and how we should all be respectful of it. it was one of those events that shaped my life. i remember thinking, wow, she really believes what she's saying, to the point of going against the main flow, sticking her neck out of the crowd. i was well impressed. and now i have devoted my life to trying to live in harmony with nature.

that was the story caroline, that was you.

glad we are all back in touch, and hope you will be able to come and visit us in the south of france - any excuse for a trip away...
enjoy!
