New Year, New Life

In our new cosy council flat in Couiza!
As the Funny Farm travels through some changes, we see the planting of hedges and the sale of sheep, the earth moving and the reduction of the cockerel population! miam miam.
We now live near the secondary school (collège) so Salix is having lunch at home and I am taking Fabien to school, sharing lunch times with friends and taking the opportunity of the trip to Fa to visit the farm and work in the garden.
The central heating and the toaster, the hoover and the hot water on tap are still a novelty to me, let alone the children. We have been living in trucks, caravans, coaches and mobile homes since their births, this is the first time they have had their own concrete block to live in. They are loving it.
Our beautiful bantam silky grey chicken has finally started laying. Worth the wait, the eggs are blue, surreal, small and perfect. Photos to follow!
Ivor is coming on apace, he says thank you (after a fashion) and we think he is saying mama and dada, in fact, he blurbs on quite nicely, only we dont understand him. He says goodnight to his brothers each night, hugging them and lying down next to them to look at a book. He loves the animals at the farm, and today, as we entered the chicken run to catch the cockerels, Ivor screamed in frustration until we came out again, he so wanted to join us. Of course we have to be careful, as the chickens and ducks will peck him!
Now that we are living in a village, I shall have no excuse not to write more frequently... we shall see!
