solstice sunrise at stonehenge. maybe the next one at the pyramids (eh Jez?) or possibly peru! It is always a bit of a pilgrimage to stonehenge, and i use the word advisedly. up at fourish, wake the two children, bundle them into the car, grab picnic, (thanx mum) and off we go. temperature around freezing about -1.5deg on m25 fog, then out of london straight up to 4.5deg! it rained and we worried about the sunrise! everyone waited in the carpark as usual for the pleasure of our police and English Heritage to decide when to open up...
some mutterings of discontent.
The rituals inside the circle were earthy and fitting. we honoured the four directions although someone forgot the north, so some laughter was involved, also chanting - i must work on my voice!
It didnt snow and no ice. the children love the music, the ritual, so mote it be. hope you like the photos.
