i wanted to be a clown when i was growing up. i wanted to make people laugh. now if you ask me what my job is, i have to say, i'm a peasant (found a site today about revolting peasants, might have to sign up). there is a lot wrong with society, in this beautiful world. i hope that by growing my own veg and using a solar shower i am making a difference. we have opened up our lives and our project to welcome people to our funny magic source farm here in fa to show how an alternative lifestyle can work. we have great fun (thank you Anuj for your comment!) and some experiences to write home about (!).
the other day, i took the sheep out with renata the garden designer and there was a sheep hanging back when we turned for home. i tried to get close to her and saw vaguely (it was dusk) something hanging out of her nether regions, i thought, oooh, she's having a baby, but on closer inspection, i saw that there was a gaping hole in her side. with entrails hanging out. ahhhh on top of mountain, what to do? left renata (poor girl) with said sheep, whilst i took the rest of the troop down and called justin saying that he would have to put her down. There were about fifteen people sitting round the table, and justin went off with a few able-bodied lads to pull her onto the 4x4. down they came and justin decided to try to save her. no question of calling vet as unfortunately sheep are not worth a lot these days, and vets are jolly expensive so... i will upload the photos and the video of the operation at a later date, suffice to say that 'stitch' as she is now known, is fine. thanks to chris for his stitching and justin of course for his squeezing of entrails back into body without twisting them, so she could still digest. we reckon that the goat butted her with her horns – dont mess with them. well, anything but a boring life here... in fact, i remember the day i got home from a lovely trip out with the sheep and goats, oh so calm and peaceful and discovered that justin had taken his dad to hospital cos the dog had bitten his finger off... ooops. his middle finger too. i remember calling out to the heavens, oh god, please, give me one boring day...... it was not to be. more photos to come as we have splurged out on a new old ebay camera..... youpiiiiiiii
happy birthday mum!!! well done on completing your trek in nepal with aunty ester!
