off we went on another descente du col de Festes, a great day out, the general public are invited to freewheel (that's what it seems like) down a six or seven kilometer hill. on a contraption that you are supposed to create (no engines allowed, altho brakes are a good idea if possible...) that morning on the hillside. it is a family event, with people of all ages taking part, this year was blessed with a sunny day, the flour flew, the screams were heard from miles away, and the horns blared out. our children of course raced down the hill on their bicycles - last year our contraption was damaged beyond repair. next year... hmmmm the idea is to stop on the way down and fling flour in the air so that the people behind pass through a cloud of fine dust - great for the camera i'm sure. photos above...
fabien got a black eye cycling into the back of the pick up. can you believe it? i was sitting in the drivers seat watching him do it too, wondering which side of the car he was choosing to go round when BANG. ugh, sickening. i will leave the video to do the talking. mitigating circumstances? there were his brother and two cousins running or cycling along beside him. he really should have stopped!!!

we also had ian come round to help the children make spinach and cheese pie, quite the success. we scoffed them. videos/photos to come...
