oooh, less than a month

since my last entry, not bad for a pregnant farmer!!!
we have some new wwoofers, tim and lucy with baby oscar, ten months old, who has inspired salix and fabien. they come home from school asking where he is, and he galvanises them in the morning too. he is a chubby delight. tim and lucy are good too ha ha. a few news bites as working towards the party now, and would like to update the website too... fabien hammered his thumb - photo (gruesome) to follow, and will undoubtedly lose his nail, poor thing. it is a lovely blue colour though. salix and fabien had drum and piano exams respectively, and passed with flying colours - youpiiii. salix fluffed up on one piece, nerves, and played the other piece perfectly gaining a 18/20 mark. his teacher is pleased. fabien's initiation piece is only short, but he played it technically perfectly, also gaining 18/20. not bad, happy parents. they are both playing in a gala on the 21st june, fĂȘte de la musique in france, a 24 hour period of any music anywhere, also when we have our party on! colin is here too, visiting from the uk, he has been busy striping wood for our shelter, which is almost up. the toilets have been rebuilt (thanks tim!) and the garden is not too bad considering the lump... the whole family went for the scan, the children were riveted by the screen, trying their hardest not to see the sex, not that any of us would be able to tell. bit strange that the scannist (spelling?) knows the sex of our baby when we dont want to know he he. salix saw a big black mark on one of the photos where you can see the legs and said, oh, look, it must be a girl!! he is hopeful i think! the weather is clearing up, drying out after SUCH a wet winter/spring, we have a freezer full of beans and sausage is being picked up on friday, as we say goodbye to the goats, except unihorn. one thing justin and i have learned i hope is that we spread ourselves too thin, and couldn't keep up all that work, have a baby and bring up our two boys effectively. so we are eating the goats and a couple of older sheep. we are not the only ones in this position, and i think it is an important part of changing lifestyles to learn your limits and capabilities. i am heading into the garden!!! definately where i belong. the children spend hours picking peas (no, we dont get any, they eat them) and strawberries, and cherries. noah and salix and fabien went off on their own to the massive cherry trees between Fa and rouvenac (next village) and didnt come back for a few hours. oops mum, forgot to take a bucket so we just stuffed ourselves!! he he. beautiful. red faces. i thought we had failed on the pea side, but salix has corrected me, telling me that he has eated loads. phew. the potatoes havent done so well this year, but the artichokes are gorgeous. more within the month i hope, birthday coming up, party and lots of visitors and guests... hopefully i will have a camera before long, one way or another... have asked lucy to take photos, and colin, so you will see some soon...
