monthly blogger

wanna be a daily blogger, but it is not to be. busy growing the baby, the garden is full of weeds, but still beautiful, the spring has been wet and wonderful. we are concentrating on the chick run, the compost toilet is being rebuilt - much nicer now..., the shaded area is under construction and the raised beds look interesting. i finally gave in and built some classic permaculture beds, with wood and tiles as their borders. they look good i grudgingly admit, and strimming round them will engender less risk of people cutting plants....
the animals are out in the their park, desperately awaiting our next helpers so they can go walkies... salix will have to do it!!! cant see me waddling up the hill, still, may try it...
slugs are the bane of my life at the moment, will have to try the beer trap. they have scoffed all of my second lot of aubergines, most of my peppers, and cucumbers and melons. back to the drawing board... grrrrrr
xandrija riding the bike is one of the best things that has happened over the last month, and mum's cheesecake that she tried to put nutmeg on, but picked up the coriander instead... mmmmm and it was possibly the best cheesecake in the world...
the children are happy with the weather clearing up, playing football and basket ball around my poor plants and poppy joins in (naughty dog)...
of course with the party coming up, we are going to be clearing the party site soon, and the cooking is underway...
