and we went on the tourist train from Axat to Caudies in the Pyrennees with the school and it was great, Ivor sat in the engine of course, and the rest of the time stumbled up and down the corridor being caught by whoever happened to be sitting there, with his friend Tituan. The train was booked by the school, so it was only friends and we picked up father christmas on the way, and there was a microphone, and singing and presents, and general fun and good views!!!!!
The morning mist was similar to freezing fog and I was imagining a trip through the clouds, but the sun came out and chased the mist away to leave a sparkling panorama and me wishing i had brought my sunglasses!!!
Salix bunked off school to come and eat sugar, oh, i mean to be with his brother(!), and I was glad to see he wasnt the only older sibling to do so (phew).
Whilst in Axat, a beautiful part of the Pyrennees, we visited Jeanne-Marie, and i tried some thirty year old 'Eau de Quince', which she found in a corner of her cellar... JM tried to convince me there was not a lot of alcohol content, but I restrained from having more than a sip...
The garden is looking a bit cold, having a well deserved rest. The animals are fine with the ducks laying an incredible amount of eggs, and I believe one of our young chickens is starting to lay too. She is a very small grey/blue chicken, exceptionally fine looking, and as i sprinkled straw around the hut today, I disturbed her in one of the boxes... hopeful sign.
